A rag-tag band of actors arrives at Elsinore hoping to improve their fortune by sponging off their old buddy, Prince Hamlet. Soon they become comically embroiled in the court intrigue. This salute to the stage turns Shakespeare on his head with a melodious score, derring-do, and hammy actors.
